What are we, but the sum of our experience?
And how do we obtain this experience?
What are we, but the sum of our experience? And how do we obtain this experience?
This site and its relatives in social media are devoted to the analysis of such experience primarily through consumption of food and beverage and the location/atmosphere of such consumption. In simpler terms, WHAT, WHERE and HOW you EAT and DRINK! In this endeavor, we will use the written word, pictures, and videos from any source we can find. And we will add our opinions and observations to those as well, and hopefully prove to be a valuable resource for our readers/viewers/contributors to seek out those experiences that will continue to provide the utmost enrichment and appreciation to their lives.
My name is Alex Golden, and I will be the site’s primary contributor assisted by my father, Lex, who loves to share his tall tales of food, wine and travel he has enjoyed with Ellen, his companion (and my Mother). We have had some unique experiences over the years …. and hopefully through this site, our sharing, and with the enlistment of our friends and family, we will be able to find more adventures for all of us.
If you are looking for another “lifestyles of the rich and famous” type of site, this will not be for you. We are not looking to share the “new hot place,” or the most expensive and out of reach food or wines. We are in search of places, food, and drink that sometimes are right in front of us but have been forgotten or unnoticed. Or maybe it is a place that is far away and thought to be un-reachable, but maybe there is a way you just have not discovered yet. Sometimes it is just the realization that something is that GOOD, even if it is seemingly too expensive. I have always said that, particularly on a wine list, I look for the best deal…. Sometimes it is a $7 carafe of house wine, and sometimes it is a $250 bottle of French Bordeaux…. But that is what makes it fun! That is what makes for a memorable experience, and that is what I will take with me when I go.
Let’s explore together. Hope you will subscribe and participate, and we are able to enrich each other’s experiences. Thank you and En Vino Veritas!
